Supply-Side Regulation for E-Mobility in Ghana (SSR)
Development of Ghana's supply-side regulation for electric mobility, including a proposed Zero-Emission Vehicle Sales Standard across five vehicle categories, supporting policy documents and sub-regional dissemination.
The challenge
Accelerating the shift to electric mobility requires regulation that shapes the supply of vehicles entering a market, not only the demand for them. Ghana needed a credible supply-side regulatory framework for e-mobility, backed by robust financial and policy analysis and framed in a form suitable for national planning processes.
Our approach
As Project Coordinator, Romeo Tweneboah-Koduah led the project team, stakeholder engagement and core research, coordinating government and industry consultations and authoring the validation report, policy brief, next-steps document and the NDPC-format policy regulation.
As Lead for Financial Modelling and Policy Analysis, Ransford Wusah Bakuri covered a proposed Zero-Emission Vehicle Sales Standard across five vehicle categories, providing the analytical basis for the regulation.
Outcomes
The work delivered a supply-side regulation for electric mobility in NDPC format, supported by a validation report, policy brief and next-steps document.
An ECOWAS dissemination webinar extended the work sub-regionally, sharing Ghana's approach with a wider West African audience.
