Development of a Green Climate Fund concept note and support for a project-preparation funding application for a multi-country initiative across the Sahel region.
The challenge
The Sahel region faces acute climate pressures that call for coordinated, multi-country responses, but accessing international climate finance requires concept notes and preparation applications that meet demanding funder standards. Translating regional need into a fundable proposition was the core task.
Our approach
As Climate Finance Specialist, Dr Benjamin Batinge developed a Green Climate Fund concept note in collaboration with the West African Development Bank (BOAD) and supported a project-preparation funding application for the multi-country Sahel initiative.
Outcomes
The work delivered a Green Climate Fund concept note and a supported project-preparation application, advancing a multi-country Sahel initiative towards climate finance.
