Research Grant Mobilisation & Partnerships (RCEES / WACEENET)
Mobilising research funding and partnerships for RCEES — co-developing more than ten proposals (including a USD 150,722 award) and brokering new business and research partnerships across the West African Centres of Excellence network.
The challenge
Research centres in Africa depend on their ability to win competitive funding and build partnerships. RCEES needed to grow and diversify its resource base while strengthening collaboration across the regional network of Centres of Excellence.
Our approach
Ransford Wusah Bakuri participated in the development of over ten research proposals and led one successful bid worth USD 150,722, while facilitating six new business and strategic partnerships for the Centre.
As Regional Secretary of the West African Centres of Excellence in Energy Network (WACEENET), he coordinated collaboration — including the network’s maiden exchange programme — across five World Bank ACE Impact Centres in Ghana, Togo and Nigeria.
Outcomes
The work secured new funding and partnerships for RCEES and helped make it one of the top-performing ACE Impact Centres in Africa.
It deepened regional collaboration on energy and environmental research across West Africa.
