NDC Action Climate-Smart Agriculture Project, Ghana
Building an enabling environment for climate-smart agriculture, particularly solar-powered irrigation, by integrating environmental insights into agricultural planning and designing outreach for smallholder farmers.
The challenge
Smallholder farmers stand to benefit from climate-smart agriculture and solar-powered irrigation, but adoption depends on an enabling environment that connects sound environmental planning, accessible communication and credible investment cases. Ghana's climate-smart agriculture agenda needed both technical grounding and effective farmer outreach.
Our approach
As Environment and Communications Expert, Romeo Tweneboah-Koduah integrated environmental insights into agricultural planning, designed communication strategies for smallholder-farmer outreach and contributed to the solar-irrigation investment plan.
As Support to the Project Manager and Correspondent, Ransford Wusah Bakuri handled scheduling, budgeting, monitoring and client correspondence, keeping the project on track.
Outcomes
The work helped build an enabling environment for climate-smart agriculture, with a focus on solar-powered irrigation systems.
It delivered communication strategies for smallholder-farmer outreach and a contribution to the solar-irrigation investment plan, supported by sound project coordination.
