Lead consultant for the Government of Liberia’s Green Climate Fund Simplified Approval Process (SAP) proposal, developed with the African Development Bank as Accredited Entity. The proposal was approved, securing a USD 10 million grant and USD 1.4 million in co-financing.
The challenge
The Government of Liberia needed to access Green Climate Fund resources through the Simplified Approval Process — a route that demands a tightly argued, technically credible proposal aligned with both GCF requirements and the priorities of its Accredited Entity.
Our approach
Dr Benjamin Batinge led development of the GCF Simplified Approval Process proposal for the Government of Liberia, working with the African Development Bank as the Accredited Entity to structure the case for funding.
Outcomes
The proposal was approved by the Green Climate Fund, securing a USD 10 million grant alongside USD 1.4 million in co-financing.
The award gave Liberia dedicated resources to advance its climate priorities through a recognised multilateral channel.
