Economic Analysis for Ghana’s National Adaptation Plan

Economic Analysis for Ghana’s National Adaptation Plan

ClimateEnvironmental Protection Agency, Ghana — NAP PMUGhana2025

Technical support to the economic analysis underpinning Ghana’s National Adaptation Plan — strengthening the economic case for prioritised climate-change adaptation investments.

The challenge

Prioritising climate adaptation investment requires a credible economic case — yet robust economic analysis of adaptation options is often missing from national planning. Ghana’s National Adaptation Plan process needed validated economic evidence to guide where adaptation finance should go.

Our approach

Ransford Wusah Bakuri contributed to the technical review and validation of the economic analysis for climate-change adaptation convened by the NAP Programme Management Unit of Ghana’s Environmental Protection Agency.

The work weighed the costs and benefits of adaptation options to strengthen the economic foundations of the National Adaptation Plan.

Outcomes

The analysis sharpened the economic case for Ghana’s priority adaptation measures.

It helps direct limited adaptation finance toward the interventions that deliver the greatest resilience per cedi invested.
